Policies Summary

Please see our Parent Policy Pack for more information. Here is a brief summary:

Open: From 8 am to 6 pm, Monday – Friday, 47 weeks a year
Holidays: We are closed 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week for Easter & 2 weeks in the Summer
Staff Training: We are closed for two staff training days per term (no discount given)
Fees:
Fees are due once a term at least 30 days before the 1st day of term (12 monthly direct debits also available on the 1st of the month)
Vouchers: We accept vouchers as long as we receive them by at least the 15th of the month prior to the direct debit collection – please note any missed or late vouchers will be collected via direct debit on the 1st of the month.
Medications: As long as you have a valid prescription, we can administer medication – Please see our sickness policy!
Sickness: We try our best to keep Les Petites Etoiles a healthy environment, sick children are excluded until they are no longer contagious and are also excluded for 48 hours following a fever
Absences: We are unable to offer discounts or refunds for absences due to sickness or holidays etc.
Settling in: For your child’s best interest we require you to set aside time to help your child settle in. Please allow at least 2 days before returning to work when your child starts – please note some children may require more time.  Please click here for our settling in policy and procedure.
Waiting list:  Siblings have priority on the waiting list.
Home visits: We are happy to arrange a home-visit before you start.
Calm Classroom: We ask you not to enter the classroom between 9:15 am and 3 pm, if possible!
Authorisation: We require a photograph of everyone entitled to collect your child from Les Petites Etoiles – including one of you!
Late Collection:
Please do not arrive after 6pm, with regret we charge a £5 fine for every 5 minutes parents are late.
Non-collection: We will do everything we can and contact everyone we know to help locate you or someone specified in cases of emergency, however, we are obliged to notify the Duty Social Worker if a child has not been collected one hour after closure (or an hour after the end of the morning session where applicable)
Jewellery: For safety reasons no jewellery is permitted except a small stud earring.
Nappies: The youngest children sometimes require nappies, and we ask that you provide these for us, along with wipes etc.
Afternoon nap: Please provide us with a familiar blanket and sheet from home if you with your child to sleep in the afternoon.
Parking: We are based in central London, please be aware that parking is difficult and remains your responsibility!
Diaries: We prepare weekly diaries to keep you fully informed throughout the year – these are short, but parents love them!
Reports & Parents’ Evening: We keep detailed records of your child’s progress and invite you to a parents evening in the summer term.
Snacks & lunches: We provide a light mid-morning snack, a 4 course home-made lunch & afternoon tea. Our teachers do an amazing job at encouraging the children to eat a wide variety of food.
